Whole School Newsletters

As well as our termly Newsletters, you can keep up to date with everything by subscribing to School Ping.  All letters will be sent via this method so pieces of paper don't get lost in bags!  Mr Bassett sends out a weekly Ping and our teachers will also send termly newsletters.

In addition, our Early Years and Key Stage 1 teams use Tapestry to communicate with parents. You can find out more by speaking to you child's class teacher or calling the school office.

    Newsletter - Friday 16th May
Dear Parents and Carers, Firstly, a massive well done to Year 6 this week! We're so proud of their resilience, determination and effort - not just this week - but for the whole year! Secondly, following some upsetting posts on social media which I have been made aware of, I have attached our Respect Policy as a reminder. Every member of our school community should feel safe and respected in our school, including parents and pupils. Finally, believe it or not, we only have one week left until half term! During half term, I will be attempting to cycle from Southport to Hornsea, a coast to coast trail following the Trans Pennine Trail, raising money for the school PTA. More on this next week... In the meantime, have a great weekend. Mr Bassett

We also celebrated 80 years since VE Day with a whole school picnic on the field! One of the children said, 'Thank you, I'm just having the best day!' Whatever you're doing this weekend, I hope you have a good one. Kind regards, Mr Bassett

Good afternoon! This week there are a few attachments to the newsletter: an update message about Helix Academies Trust, feedback from the parent questionnaire and an exciting letter about Romiley's Got Talent! What an incredible week it's been! Well-being Wednesday was a massive success - we raised over £3000 for Sense, a charity chosen by our school council who partnered with Mrs Oxer who is running the London Marathon for Sense. I am totally gob-smacked by the generosity in our community! Thank you. Our children benefited through 2 of the 5 ways to well-being we have been learning about - helping others and staying active. Well done to our amazing children for getting stuck in! This week, I have attached some feedback from the parent questionnaire which you may find interesting. I am very proud to work with and for such a supportive community, sadly, this is no longer the norm in education. If you're celebrating Eid this coming week, Eid saeed, If you're celebrating Mother's Day, I hope you have a great one. Enjoy your weekend and I'll see you on Monday.

Good afternoon! This week, we have had our school improvement advisor visit us. He advises schools across the council and is a previous headteacher and Ofsted inspector. He was full of praise about our expectations, the quality of the curriculum and the opportunities our children receive. This week, we also heard our school choir sing at the Forum and at the Town Hall, impressing everyone with their sheer number, confidence, volume and quality! I hope you enjoy your weekend. See you on Monday. Mr Bassett

We have also had our regular reading morning, year 3’s assembly, the History Van visited and much more! Whatever you’re doing this weekend, I hope you have a really good one. See you on Monday.
