MUSIC AT ROMILEY
Music is a powerful and unique form of communication. At Romiley Primary School we strive to inspire and motivate our pupils by emerging them in exciting, stimulating and positive musical experiences. We believe that music can be instrumental in developing our pupils’ self-confidence, self-esteem, self-discipline, resilience and sense of achievement. We aim to make music accessible to all, whatever their academic ability. Music is a vehicle for promoting personal expression, reflection and emotional development. It enables children to become part of a supportive community, creating, playing, performing and reflecting. We endeavour to nurture creativity.
MUSICAL OPPORTUNITIES
As our aim is to make music assecible to all, we are proud to offer all of our children unique musical experiences. We have specialist music teachers from Stockport Music Service delivering Samba and Keyboard lessons on a weekly basis in Year 4. Furthermore, each week our music subject leaders deliver singing, appraisal and rhythm work assemblies for children across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
We believe it is equally important to offer extra curricular activities to enhance class teaching and allow children to create, express and perform their talents in the wider community. Please find below a list of the extra curricular activites we offer.
- Brass Tution
- Brass Band
- Guitar Tution
- Piano Tution
- Key Stage 2 Choir
