At Romiley Primary School we use the Monster Phonics scheme which is a whole-class systematic synthetic phonics scheme for children in Reception and Key Stage 1.
This scheme encourages children to develop a positive attitude towards their learning, as they quickly engage with the friendly characters who introduce new sounds in an enjoyable and child-centred way. Each sound is linked to a colour-coded character, providing consistent support as children build confidence and resilience through a structured approach.
