Pupil Premium
The Government provides additional funding to publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers. The Government requires the school to publish information about how the Pupil Premium funding is used.
The school receives additional funding in the form of Pupil Premium for children entitled to free school meals in the last 6 years, children in care and children of parents in the armed forces.
From September 2014, pupils recently adopted from care under the Adoption and Children
Act 2002 and children who have left care under a Special Guardianship or Residence Order will also be eligible for additional funding.
It is for schools to decide how Pupil Premium is spent, since they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for the individual pupils within their responsibility.
Schools are to be held accountable for how they have used additional funding to support their pupils; however the Governors reserve the right to allocate pupil premium funding to support any pupils or groups of pupils the school has legitimately identified as being socially disadvantaged.
