Whole School Newsletters
As well as our termly newsletters, you can keep up to date with everything by subscribing to School Ping. All letters will be sent via this method so pieces of paper don't get lost in bags! Mr Bassett sends out a weekly Ping with the school newsletter and our class teachers will also send termly newsletters.
In addition, our Early Years team use Tapestry to communicate with parents. You can find out more by speaking to you child's class teacher or calling the school office.

- Newsletter30 January 2026Newsletter 30th JanuaryDear Parents and Carers, This has been a tough week for illnesses – so many children and staff have been suffering with flu, colds and chicken pox! The newsletter is a bit sparser this week as a result! As a school, we are kept under close scrutiny for our attendance figures. Unfortunately, since Christmas attendance has dropped. Hopefully with the lighter days and warmer weather, our attendance figures will pick up again. Just a reminder to all parents, the Local Authority will process an education penalty notice (EPN) for term time holidays. Every year, children have 175 days off school and 190 days in school. Every day in school really does count. I hope you all have a good weekend. Mr Bassett
- Newsletter23 January 2026Newsletter 23rd JanuaryDear Parents and Carers, Congratulations - you got past one of the toughest weeks of the year! Apparently Monday was 'blue Monday', possibly a marketing ploy, but a tough time of year nonetheless. I used this as an opportunity to remind the children about the importance of positivity on Monday, not blind optimism, but being intentionally positive. Whatever you're doing this weekend, I hope you find plenty of joy!
- Newsletter16 January 2026Newsletter 16th JanuaryDear Parents and Carers, Another week has gone and we're half way through January already! I am convinced it's getting lighter. Please find attached this week's newsletter. Also attached is the Picture News resource we used in assembly. This is a fantastic resource which links British Values and the Protected Characteristics to a news story which will interest the children. I hope you find it useful. Have a great weekend.
- Newsletter9 January 2026Newsletter 9th JanuaryDear Parents and Carers, Happy New Year! It seems a little unfair to start January with snow, slippery playgrounds and a return to the dreaded roadworks! When it’s dark and cold, it can certainly get us down. The children reminded me this week that there are positives every day – we just need to be alert to them. There is so much to look forward to in 2026. No doubt there will be challenges for all of us, but with our school values of resilience, positivity and support, I know that we’ll overcome them and grow through them. As you know, every term we send out termly newsletters from each year group. We’ll send these out on Monday. Whatever you’re doing this weekend, I hope you have a great one. See you on Monday.
- Important9 January 2026Changes to the Start of the School DayDear Parents and Carers, The start of the school day is an extremely important time for our children. We are constantly reviewing our procedures and want to ensure that the beginning of the school day is as positive and calm as possible. Years 1 and 2 Beginning on Monday, children will be asked to line up at their classroom doors in the morning (they will be shown where to line up in class). All children will then be brought into school together at 8:45am. Please ensure that children arrive promptly with all their belongings so they can come in, get settled, change their reading books, and be ready for registration and Phonics at 9:00am. Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 At 8:50am, staff will be outside and a whistle will signal the start of the school day. Children are expected to line up independently and walk into school with their class. If your child arrives after this time, they will have to enter through the school office, where they will be marked as late. Please note that late marks are monitored. Start Times Summary Reception, Year 1 and Year 2: 8:45am Years 3, 4, 5 and 6: 8:50am Remember – be on time and in the line! Kind regards, Mr Bassett
- Newsletter19 December 2025Newsletter 19th DecemberDear Parents and Carers, We made it - we got to the end of another term! Here's the last newsletter of 2025 - I'll see you next year! Enjoy your Christmas, Mr Bassett
- Newsletter12 December 2025Newsletter 12th DecemberHappy Friday! Firstly, a huge thank you to all those who contributed more than they needed to for the Panto. This genuinely made such a difference and ensured that every child could experience this fun Christmas tradition with their classmates. I love how our community supports one another and tries hard to give every child a strong sense of belonging. Thank you. I was lucky enough to see the Reception Nativity and I heard the Year 1 sing along, Nursery sing along and Year 2 production were all fantastic! Well done to all the children and thank you for your support. After a wet couple of weeks, the weekend looks dry! Whatever you're doing, have a good weekend and I'll see you on Monday - for our last week of term! Kind regards, Mr Bassett
- Newsletter5 December 2025Newsletter 5th DecemberGood evening! Happy Friday everyone. Firstly, a huge 'thank you!' to the PTA for organising such a fantastic Christmas Fair last week. It was great to see so many people there. We're looking forward to selling the enterprise activities on Wednesday after school. Hopefully the weather is kinder this weekend than it's been this week! Take care and I'll see you on Monday.
- Newsletter28 November 2025Newsletter 28th NovemberDear Parents and carers, Every week feels a little more like Christmas! Now, the enduring debate begins again as we hear Christmas songs ringing through the corridors – is it 5 gold rings or 5 golden rings?! Also attached this week is a wellbeing bingo game made by Mrs Cropper after wellbeing Wednesday. Have a look and see what you can tick off! I’ll see many of you tomorrow for the PTA Christmas Fair. If not, have a great weekend and I’ll see you on Monday. Take care, Mr Bassett
- Newsletter21 November 2025Newsletter 21st NovemberDear Parents and Carers, I know it’s still November but… it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! The Christmas tree in the hall looks amazing! Thank you to the PTA for organising this. The window in the main school office looks very Christmassy as well! Thank you, Lina for spending so much time decorating our windows. Thank you all for bringing in your donations for the hampers. There were some amazing hair styles today! I’m looking forward to our Christmas Fair next week on 29th November. Normally, we’d have the children’s enterprise wares to sell at the Christmas Fair, but we haven’t been able to get them all finished in time. Don’t worry though, we’ll arrange another time before Christmas when you can buy the enterprise produce. Thank you to all the parents who responded to the Parent Partnership expression of interest we put in last week’s newsletter. We genuinely value your feedback and contribution and we’re looking forward to working with you on our next steps with equality, equity and diversity. Since the last time we met, we’ve changed our curriculum, highlighted and celebrated different religious festivals, changed our assembly model to include regular assemblies on protected characteristics and British Values, and worked closely with the ethnic diversity to continue to strive towards a strong sense of belonging for all our families. As you know, the world continues to change and we need to ensure we respond to the many community tensions positivity and together. It’s not too late to express your interest in getting involved. Simply email the office@ address with the heading ‘Parent Partnership’. Have a great weekend – and stay warm! Mr Bassett
