Teaching Team – Miss L Thorniley, Mr Whelan
It is with real sadness that we are preparing to close the school for the majority of our children in these unprecedented times. We have been working hard to plan and provide activities so that your children can continue to learn at home. On Friday 20th March, each child will bring home a home learning pack. This will contain an exercise book for them to record their work, topic grids with ideas for activities covering Science, Maths, English and other areas. The Year 3/4 spelling list will also be in each pack so that the children can continue to learn and revise the statutory words. To support their learning there will also be online activities. The children have all been given up to date log in details and passwords for the following resources:
Spelling and Grammar Bug
We have also generated materials which you can use at home during the school closure and will continue to add more as it continues – https://romileyprimary.com/our-classes/home-learning/
Please do not feel bombarded with homework. These are suggestions to support your home schooling over the next few weeks. We understand that these are really difficult times and that the children may be in a variety of different settings over the coming weeks. However keeping basic skills and learning and a routine wherever possible will help to settle the children and prepare them for their return to school.
If possible we would suggest daily reading, spelling and times table practise. We would hope that the children complete an English and Maths task each day with a creative/topic task in the afternoon.
Thank you for your support. Please continue to check this page for any updates. Please note that if your child has been absent, then their pack will be in the school office!
Stay safe, healthy and positive. We hope to see you soon.
Mr Belfield and Miss Thorniley.
