March 29th – April 1st all the children at RPS celebrated Arts Week. A fun and creative time was had by all!
Key Stage 2 classes visited Romiley Forum where they were involved in dancing, drama, props/costumes and technical workshops. The theme for Arts Week was “Animals”. Every class created animal sculptures, art work, animal dances, sang animal songs and were fortunate enough to have students from Tameside college visit and treat the children to face painting classes. Parents were invited to a poetry café to listen to the children read poetry. The week finished with a visit to church for the announcement of the winners of an Art competition then back to school for a final showcase of work from each class.
We would like to thank all the staff at NK Theatre Arts, Tracey Holt and her students from Tameside college, Michelle Woodward, Mrs Bestwick, Mrs Dar, Jim Hibbert, Hannah Gorst, Amy Horrocks and Sue Cooke for sharing their skills, volunteering and helping to make our Arts Week possible.
